This double-sided Strop with handle from Herold of Solingen is suitable for honing and sharpening stainless steel open razors.
This Strop is made of Juchten leather and has a handle. The Juchten leather is made from young cattle, is completely waterproof, and offers optimal strength. The handle helps improve grip during the polishing of the knives for comfortable use.
The green, leather side is intended for honing and sharpening the knife. Use the Strop Paste – Green to maintain the Strop. The cream-colored side is used to polish the knife.

Sharpening:
1. Tighten the strap to the desired tension. So tight that it leather hardly bends under normal pressure.
2. Sharpen on the colored side of the strap.
3. Take the knife and place it with the back facing forward.
4. Run the knife 10 times over the colored side from top to bottom.
5. Tilt the knife and bring it back towards you over the strap.
6. This way you have set both sides of the knife once.
The Paste is used to maintain the Strap. It does not need to be reapplied with each use. As long as the knife makes a grinding sound on the strap, there is still enough Paste on it. Allow the Paste to dry before using the Strap.
Polishing:
1. Start by 'aligning' the steel of the razor. Do this by turning the knife with the back facing forward again.
2. Run the knife 15 times over the canvas side from top to bottom.
3. Then turn the shaving strap to the leather sides.
4. In the same way, run the knife over the leather strap to polish the knife. Do this approximately 20 times.
5. The knife is now ready to shaving with.
