Two of the most talked-about names in the barber world, Schorem Haarsnijder & Barbier and Reuzel Pomade. Since 2011, they have been conquering the world with their barbershop, hairstyle, tour, and Reuzel products.
History of Schorem
In 2011, Leen and Bertus came up with the idea of starting a classic barbershop. A place for men without women, but with good music and a beer, a place where men can come together and be men. Decorated in an old-fashioned way with a classic barber chair, the coolest products from bygone times, and a pig's head on the wall. It worked, and a few months later they opened the doors of 'Schorem Haarsnijder & Barbier' at Nieuwe Binnenweg 113 in Rotterdam. A beautiful and special shop, with the unique first-come-first-serve concept.
This move was a success, and soon there were waiting times of 6 hours or more. Before the shop opens, the first customers are already at the door, because waiting at Schorem is no punishment. You drink a beer, have a chat, and enjoy live music. Thus, a visit to the barber is transformed into a day out.
Reuzel Pomade
The barbershop is running like a charm, and another dream of Leen and Bertus is ready for execution; the Reuzel Pomade. A beautiful nod to the old pig fat that people used to smear in the Hair, it must look like that too. A slick product that makes your Hair shine in an old worn-out tin with a pig on it.
Brewing it themselves didn't work out, and a well-known producer of Hair Gels and hair products couldn't meet Schorem's requirements. But it had to work, because the hype had already been created, and many thought the Reuzel Pomade was already available, but only for well-known customers under the counter because they could only get a few tins per month.
The solution came in the form of the American David Raccuglia, the founder of American Crew and a professional photographer, who came to photograph Leen and Bertus's barbershop. He dared to develop Reuzel for the boys, and some time later Reuzel Inc. was born.
The first two products were the Reuzel Red and the Reuzel Green Pomade. Both in the nostalgic tin with the pig on it. Reuzel hit hard, and in no time, the Reuzel Pomade was available all over the world, and with the Reuzel Pomade you bring a piece of Schorem into your home.
Meanwhile, Reuzel has a Collection of dozens of products with Reuzel Blue Strong Hold as the most popular product, Schorem has moved to a larger building, and Bertus and Leen travel the world to give shows. It all started with an idea from Schorem in Rotterdam.
