What is Eau de Parfum?
An Eau de Parfum is often compared to an Eau de Cologne and an Eau de Toilette, but contains the highest concentration of perfume. In an Eau de Parfum you will find about 15% to 20% perfume, while in an Eau de Cologne there is only a maximum of 5% perfume. An Eau de Parfum will therefore linger much longer than an Eau de Cologne or Eau de Toilette.
Due to its strength, you only have to apply an Eau de Parfum once a day. You apply this to your wrists and/or behind your ears. Due to the high percentage of perfume present in an Eau de Parfum, it is logically also more expensive than other variants.
What is the difference between Eau de Parfum, Eau de Cologne and Eau de Toilette?
There are quite a few differences between an Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette and an Eau de Parfum . You use Eau de Cologne to refresh yourself and Eau de Parfum gives you a seductive scent that lingers around you all day (and evening).
Fragrance ingredients:
- Eau de Cologne: 2-4%
- Eau de Toilette: 5-15%
- Eau de Parfum: 15-20%

- Eau de Cologne: up to 2 hours
- Eau de Toilette: +/- 4 hours
- Eau de Parfum: 8+ hours
What is Eau de Parfum good for?
An Eau de Parfum will make you smell good all day long. Where another fragrance will leave you after a few hours, a men's Eau de Parfum will stay with you all day. In addition to a good haircut and a fresh outfit, your fragrance will make a first impression on people. Many people recognize you by your scent and that is why it is very beneficial to always smell great.
How do you use Eau de Parfum?
- Apply a small amount of Eau de Parfum to areas where you feel your heartbeat. For example, think of your wrist, neck and the inside of the elbow
- You spray an Eau de Parfum in the air
- Walk through the 'perfume cloud'.
Which Eau de Parfum to buy?
A fragrance note is another word for ingredient in the perfume world. The ingredients in a perfume are what give the fragrance its air. Fragrance notes can also be compared to musical notes. There are light and floating notes as well as dark, heavier notes. A perfume consists of three layers of notes. Top notes, heart notes and base notes. When you realize that you have a preference for certain notes, it is easy to filter men's perfume on this.
