Do you also have curly or wavy Hair? Man, we know your struggle. It's always chaos when you get out of bed. Just running a comb through it? Forget it. We are often jealous of the men with straight Hair who just apply some Pomade, Hair Wax, or Hair Clay in their Hair and are ready for the day in five minutes. That doesn't work for us.
But when you embrace your curls and waves, you'll see that it also has a lot of charm. It always has volume, texture, and always looks exciting. Taking care of and styling your Hair just takes some time. But once you get the hang of it, you'll never want anything else.
There are a few things you can do to gain more control over your Hair and style it better. We give you some tips to bring out the best in your Hair.
Tip 1: Choose the right hairstyle
If you want a hairstyle that is easy to style and more manageable, it starts with choosing the right haircut. If you have really curly Hair, choose short sides and also short on top but just a bit longer. If you have wavy Hair, you might go for something a bit longer on top. Get advice from your barber and take the time to find the hairstyle that suits you best. Check out the hairstyles below for inspiration.
Tip 2: Less shampoooooo
We've said this before and we're just going to say it again. Wash your Hair less often with Shampoo. Of course, everyone has different Hair but just try it out. Wash your Hair only twice a week for a few weeks. Conditioner you can use every day. You'll see that your Hair will look different.
Tip 3: Use a Hair Oil for men
A Hair Oil makes your Hair soft, hydrated and reduces damaged Hair during blow-drying. You can apply this to wet Hair after showering before you start with the Hair Dryer.
If you don't want to use a Hair Oil or if you insist on working with a pre styler, try a Hair Mask once a week (depending on how dry your Hair is). This fully restores your Hair.
Tip 4: Use the right Tools for your Hair Styling
Use a Hair Dryer
A Hair Dryer is definitely the most essential tool when you want to do something with your Hair. Whether you have curly Hair or not. We've passed the time when a Hair Dryer was only for women, right? It's a device that dries the Hair. Not a lipstick. So just make sure you have a Hair Dryer at home. Get out of the shower and gently pat your hair dry with a towel and then start blow-drying. This largely determines how your Hair will look.
Preferably use a Hair Dryer with a diffuser. This is an attachment for your Hair Dryer that ensures the airflow is distributed and the curls are maintained. This prevents the Hair from frizzing and ensures even drying. Use the diffuser on a low setting and keep the Hair Dryer about 10 cm away from your head. Use your fingers to move your Hair while drying to enhance the curls.
Use a brush for men
During blow-drying, it is recommended to use a round brush (also known as a quiff roller). It is perfect for creating volume and determining the direction of your Hair. This way, you can keep your curls or wavy Hair perfectly under control. Never comb your Hair when it is completely dry. This will damage it significantly. Grab the hair with your brush, pull it slightly taut, and Hair Dryer it dry to keep it in check.
Tip 5: Use a Hair Clay with high Hold
Hair Clay goes perfectly with curly or wavy Hair. You continue to see the wave well and get the most beautiful texture. Curly and wavy Hair is harder to style than straight Hair. It's a stubborn Hair Type. So make sure you have a Hair Clay with high Hold, for example, Hanz de Fuko Claymation or Reuzel Hair Clay Matte Pomade. If even that is not enough, you can always add a little Finishing Spray after styling it.
