Almost every man has attempted at some point to let his Hair grow longer. The majority of those men give up after a few months. That's a shame because it can really change your appearance and give you a refreshing new look as a person.
Men often give up because the Hair becomes unmanageable after a while, and it becomes uncomfortable to walk around with a hairstyle that doesn't look good. It requires some patience and perseverance to achieve beautiful long locks. With the right approach, it doesn't have to be such a struggle.
Look at what suits you
The most common problem for men who want to grow their Hair longer is that they don't know what they're getting into. They wake up one day and decide to let their Hair grow. Often without having a specific style in mind. They see a model in a magazine, a friend with long Hair, or an actor who looks fantastic with long Hair. In this, they don't consider what kind of head that friend or actor has and what kind of hairline. This determines whether that style suits you or if it's even possible.
Maybe you have receding hairlines and can't achieve that full look at all. Or it looks completely different than what you had in mind for Eyes. It could also be that the look you want doesn't suit the shape of your Face at all. So always consider the shape of your Face and how your Hair grows beforehand. When you have a specific style in mind for Eyes, you know what to work towards and can discuss it with your barber.
Go to the barber regularly
This sounds a bit strange, and many men don't go to the barber at all when they want to grow their Hair. This is also the main cause of a wild, unattractive mass of Hair on your head.
You still need to go to the barber to keep your Hair in a certain style and to be able to style your Hair. The sides can be cut shorter, and the top longer. Often, you can let the sides grow later. You don't have to have an unattractive hairstyle during that in-between phase. You need to guide the growth of the Hair so that it grows into a specific style. Going to the barber also prevents split ends, keeping it looking well-groomed.
Use the right products
When the Hair is longer, you will need to use different products than when you have short Hair. You can leave the jars of Hair Clay closed. For longer Hair, lighter products are used. Over the General, the best products for longer Hair are definitely Hair Cream and Hair Paste. Depending on how thick your Hair is, of course. If you have thicker and coarser Hair, then a Hair Cream is the better option.
A Hair Paste is somewhat thicker and provides more texture than a Hair Cream and offers a bit more Hold. Suitable for men with thinner Hair. A Hair Cream offers a little control but is mainly intended to let your Hair fall nicely in a certain direction and give a bit of shine. If you want a rougher or more summery look, go for a Sea Salt Spray.
Care for your Hair differently
Use a gentle Shampoo with not too many chemicals. It is best to use a Shampoo with only natural ingredients; choose for example Doers of London, Doers of London Shampoo is a Shampoo of purely natural ingredients. Also, do not use Shampoo every day. For short Hair, we do not recommend it, but certainly not for long Hair. What you should do every day is use a Conditioner. It ensures that your Hair remains strong and soft. It provides your Hair with vitamins and other nourishing ingredients.
So wash one to two times a week with a Shampoo and daily with a Conditioner. Always use a Conditioner after the Shampoo because otherwise the Shampoo washes away the oils of the Conditioner. Is your Hair very dry? Use a Hair Mask or a Leave-In Conditioner to give your Hair extra nourishment.
Brush your hair a few times a week so that the oils in your hair are distributed well. It also prevents tangles in the Hair and split ends. The oils that your scalp produces reach all parts of the Hair.
Styling long Hair
Have you never had long Hair before? Then it's not surprising that you have no idea how to style your Hair. We explain in a few steps how you could do it.
- Dry your Hair with a towel after showering/washing. Leave it slightly damp.
- Want texture? Add some Sea Salt Spray. Knead the Hair so that the Sea Salt Spray is well distributed and texture is created.
- You can now add some Hair Cream if you wish. Take a fingertip of Hair Cream and rub it between your palms. Distribute well through the Hair.
- Hair Dryer the Hair when you want a bit more Hold and texture. For a more natural look, you can just leave it.
- Does your Hair become frizzy and dry during the day? Then add some Hair Oil after styling.
