Eye Cream: the basics of eye care for men

We assume that your skin is cleansed and ready to be cared for. Just like with women, you use a special eye cream in the eye care for men. The 'normal' day cream you use for the rest of your face is usually too greasy and stiff for the delicate skin around your eyes. This skin cannot absorb the cream well, and this can eventually lead to clogging. Clogged pores, of course, only cause trouble, so to prevent this, you take a cream that is lighter in texture. Eye Cream's are less thick, absorb well, and you often only use a pinhead amount.

How do you use eye cream?

You first dab that pinhead of cream around the eyes to distribute it evenly, resulting in a number of cream dots. Now you can gently dab and rub to massage the cream into your skin. Do this lightly and carefully to avoid irritating your skin. Feel if the skin is saturated and otherwise apply a little extra. Then let it absorb quietly before continuing with the rest of your routine.

Concealer

The rest of your routine? To achieve a fresh appearance of the eyes, you then use some concealer. The literal translation of this word in Dutch is 'verberger' (hider), and that's exactly what you do with it. Almost everyone knows bags, pigment spots, or age spots, and it's nice to be able to cover them up a bit. Concealer for around the eyes is often brownish in color in different shades depending on your skin tone.

How do you use concealer?

The concealer is actually applied in the same way as the eye cream. There are two basic ways to apply it: with your fingers or with a so-called concealer pen. The latter is handy because you can apply it directly to the skin. Place a few dots and then spread with your fingers or a corresponding brush. If your concealer is not in pen form, you apply it with your fingers just like the eye cream. A small pinhead is more than enough again. You can optionally cover some spots in the rest of your face. Make sure you have the right color and that the concealer is well absorbed by your skin. This way, no strange noticeable concealer spots appear.
