This razor strop from Herold of Solingen is made of Juchten leather and 100% canvas and is used for polishing open razors.
The Juchten leather is made from young cattle, is completely waterproof, and offers optimal strength. The backside of the razor strop is made of 100% canvas. The canvas side is used to warm the blade before sharpening.
This razor strop is used in combination with yellow and white strop paste. To maintain the razor strop, the leather part is treated with the yellow strop paste and the canvas backside with the white strop paste. This keeps the razor strop in perfect condition.

Aim :
1. Attach your shaving belt to a hook with one end.
2. Take the other end in your hand and tighten it.
3. Lay the blade completely flat on the canvas side of the shaving belt.
4. Bring the blade towards you, spine of the blade first, then the sharp side of the blade. Then move the knife away from you.
5. Repeat this procedure 15 times, applying as little pressure as possible to the blade.
Polishing:
1. Lay the blade completely flat on the leather side of the shaving belt.
2. Bring the knife towards you, the back of the knife first and then the sharp side of the knife. Then move the knife away from you.
3. Repeat this procedure 20 times, using as little pressure as possible on the blade.
