For almost every Battle we place a very well -known and popular product against a product that is slightly less well -known. That often produces interesting results. We would like to have two products compete for this Battle that both come from the Netherlands. Many people of course immediately think of lard. One of the largest brands in the field of Pomade. We all know the story of Schorem from Rotterdam with their success. We have often treated that. Read here the story when you behind the story Lard Not yet knows. Their most popular product is of course the lard Blue, which every "pomade user" does know. Let's now find a very suitable candidate who fits perfectly in this battle, the Corleone Sticky stuff!
Corleone is also a Dutch brand and was founded by the man behind New York Barbershop, Robert Lagerman. Lagerman comes from a family with a long hairdressing tradition. Already in 1884 his great -grandfather started a men's hair salon in the center of Rotterdam. More than a hundred years later, in 1990, Lagerman came up with a whole new concept based on the old -fashioned Barbershop, not knowing that he would put a trend with it.
He opened a business on the Oude Binnenweg where the craftsmanship and the attention of the classic barber were combined with a pleasant, café -like atmosphere. A place where men feel at ease, take the time for a chat and an excellent espresso or drink a beer. The Barbershop is now legendary. When Graziano Pellè played at Feyenoord from 2012 to 2014 and had his hair cut by owner Robert Lagerman, all the boys wanted the same hairstyle as the Italian striker. In addition, they had their own hair products developed, including the pomade.
Lard Blue Strong Hold Pomade vs Corleone "Sticky Stuff" High Shine Pomade
The Lard Blue Strong Hold Is very loved, but one of the few water -based pomades that gives a high shine. The Corleone also gives this, that makes the Battle extra interesting. We both tested them to give our opinion.
Ingredients
What is striking is how short the list of ingredients is of the Corleone Sticky Stuff. We look at that of lard there are a lot more. It is mainly substances that serve as preservatives, color and fragrances and substances that influence the substance. In terms of function for the hair, both products are the same in our opinion. No details. That is why we leave the stand at 0. Score: 0 - 0 equal
Fragrance
Always nice a nice scent in your pomade. For that you are actually very good with both pomades. We find the smell of the blue lard the tastiest of all the lard products. Lard calls the smell Vanilla Wood. That's right. A sweet and woody scent. Nice and subtle too. The Pomade of Corleone has a fresh male scent reminiscent of a typical male cologne. Very tasty! Both scents will be appreciated by many men. Our preference is just a bit more to the Corleone. Just a little more fresher and more masculine. Score 1 - 0 for Corleone
Structure and application in the hair
The first major differences here become clear. You can effortlessly remove the lard Blue Strong hold from the package with your finger and the substance is nice and smooth. You spread it very easily through the hair. The Corleone is different. It's not for nothing called Sticky Stuff. The substance is a bit thicker and when you feel it distributed by your hair you feel that it is slightly more sticky, but without being annoying. You still effortlessly get it out of the jar and distributing the hair is still very easy. Because the lard is just a little easier, it gets the point. Score: 1 - 1 equal
Styling
Where the lard is easier while applying in the hair, it is now the Sticky Stuff that it does much better when modeling your hair. The advantage of the thicker and slightly more sticky substance is that your hair does exactly what you want. The Corleone Sticky Stuff Gives a lot of control. So far, no other pomade has been doing so well. We are pleasantly surprised. The lard Blue does this a lot less well. You apply it easily but you have to make a relatively great effort to get your hair in the desired model. This point clearly goes to the Corleone Sticky Stuff. Score: 2 - 1 for Corleone
Hold
Both products give the hair a high hold. Here too we notice a big difference. The blue lard alists a lot more in the hair, as if you have a gel used. We don't like that ourselves. Your hair, on the other hand, stays in place. So really a high hold! The Corleone does not get stiff but has just as good hold. Your hair stays in place and can even be used somewhat again because it does not rise. So this point goes to Sticky Stuff. Score: 3 - 1 for Corleone.
Shine
Both the lard and the Corleone call the product a high shine pomade. As far as we are concerned, it is a bit between medium and high shine. They both really give a good shine, but no real high shine. The Corleone gives just a little more shine than the lard. We also think the finish looks nicer with the Sticky Stuff. We give this point to Corleone Sticky Stuff. Score: 4 - 1 for Corleone.
Wash out
The excesses are really effortless with both pomades. They are of course both water -based products and are both absolutely not greasy. A clear difference has not really been noticed during excesses. That is why we give both pomades a point. Score: 5 - 2 for Corleone.
Price
For the Corleone Sticky Stuff you now pay € 19.95 for 100 grams. The lard is currently discounted to € 12.45 for 113 grams. Normally you pay € 17.95 for this. The lard is therefore cheaper. This point is therefore clearly going to lard. Score: 5 - 3 for Corleone.
And the winner is ... ..
The Corleone Sticky Stuff High Shine Pomade is really the clear winner for us. That makes the lard Blue Strong Hold absolutely no wrong product. This is still one of the top of the water -based pomads. But in our opinion, the Corleone Sticky Stuff does everything you can expect from a water -based pomade. Especially the amount of control it gives about your hair has really pleasantly surprised us.
