This shaving belt by Herold from Solingen is made of Juchten leather and is used for polishing open razors.
The Juchten leather comes from young cattle, is absolutely waterproof and offers optimum strength.
This shaving belt is used in combination with yellow shaving belt paste. To maintain the shaving belt, it is rubbed with the yellow shaving belt paste. This keeps the shaving belt in perfect condition.
Polishing:
1. Attach your shaving belt to a hook with one end.
2. Take the other end in your hand and tighten it.
3. Lay the blade completely flat on the leather side of the shaving belt.
4. Bring the blade towards you, spine of the blade first, then the sharp side of the blade. Then move the knife away from you.
5. Repeat this procedure 20 times, using as little pressure as possible on the blade.
