Abbate A La Mantia's products contain its home-grown saffron. Saffron is extracted from the saffron crocus. The saffron crocus is a flower that only blooms for eight days a year. To extract saffron, you have to separate the pistils from the flower, and this is done by hand. It takes up to one hundred and fifty saffron crocuses to obtain one gram of saffron, which is why saffron is also known as "red gold". Saffron is an antioxidant, has medicinal properties, repairs skin cells, is suitable for all skin types and activates the metabolism.
